Haunted Jagrtii--(2)

It's Holloween!  Let me tell you one of the strangest stories I have ever heard.  In China we have a legend that goes like this:  After every July of the lunar calendar, the door of the hell will open and the third party people (ghosts) can come out and linger around after midnight.  Normal people should not stay out after mid-night on that night.

Some years ago, one retreat ended.  We were on the way back home.   We had to stay at didi Doytimaya's house in Asheville NC. Because of RDS, didi did not come back right after  the retreat.  Her room mate, Niranjana and her daughter had gone to visit the grandparents. in New Jersey.They were not home, so Niranjana and her daughter returned to Asheville  We asked Niranjana and her daughter to stay at the jagrtii for one night.

I remembered when we arrived it was about dawn.  I felt the house was damp. The  vibration was not good.  But I did not think about it too much, since we were tired from the long intensive practice at the retreat.  Some margiis attended the retreat because they could meet new margiis and some old friends.  Some liked to take a leave from their work for a few days.  Some liked to do intensive practice to take advantage of the retreat.  Sometimes there were 6 hours of kiirtan. At least one could do 3 hours kiirtan every day, fast, do long hours of meditation, observe pancajania every morning and avatar kiirtan every night, ...etc.  Also, there might be some senior dada or didi from India  who came to give philosophy talk or BaBa's stories.  What kind of attitude or approach toward the retreat is really based on the individual.

Back in Asheville, at the jagrti, I could not sleep until midnight.  I was thinking I would do  a little bit meditation. Then, I went to sleep.  But something happened.  While I was in meditation, I felt I was somewhere outside of the house.  I saw many people walking toward one direction.  I did not know why they were all walking there, toward a place I could not see.  It was dark and foggy in the open air.  I saw an old man several steps away from me.  so , I went to him and asked him why people were going in that direction.  The old man told me there was a meeting so every one was going to attend the meeting.  I followed the old man's direction and I saw a cemetery with tombs all over.  I was thinking" ah!  this was a cemetery before.  ........."

Later, bad thing occurred  to Niranjana as I expected.  Yes, it was not a good house to stay in because it was a place that used to be a cemetery and  was now changed to a residential area.  People should avoid this kind of place otherwise you may see many bad things happening to you and your family or around you.


ps:  I would usually go to cemetery to do meditation in the darkest night once a month.   Because I could see those beings which normal people could not see,  I had many mystic experiences.  For me it was normal but to others it was not.  But I should tell you the vibration at a cemetery in the night is so different from the day time.  Other than darkness, it filled up with gray blue fog moving around along with  wind flows.  Sometimes, you could not see anything because it could be too dark with no light nearby.  Dogs would be barking out there far away from where you were.  Someone could be walking through in front of you and you wouldn't want to know why he was coming along so late in the night.
