A very powerful practice on pranayama is reverse breathing. When i practice at gym, i do not use strength. i use qi. No one knows a kind of practice i am using. Very powerful and very healing.
The secret is the "hold up"; Natural way of breathing or Reverse way of Breathing helps you, first is rhyme, second is "hold up", breath in for a few second, hold up the "qi" for a few second, then, breath out the "qi" gradually. or breath out gradually for a few seconds, hold up a few seconds, then, breath out gradually.
The dangerous moment kick in in "hold up" period. It happen in Reverse Breathing. Why? Mostly because while you are using strength you breath in first , while shoot out the energy within through breath out. This is a natural way. But when you do Reverse breathing, you breath out first, no air inside you, you still channelize energy within you to where you need, but suppose you can not hold up long enough to finish your action, then, part of the "qi" will get stuck. For long, you will have a lot of trouble for breathing. So we need to do something after the reverse breathing. i won't say it here. You'd better to find a good teacher who knows how. To get a correct demo and correction will be necessary until you are familiar with this kind of breathing.
If you do it properly on breathing, the 4th lesson, your meditation will benefit from it very much, what? you will get amazed from its power. The name of the breathing is pranayama. yama means control in samskrta. prana means "vital force".
